You didn't mention how big your clown is, but either which way you go you'll want the other clown to either be about 1/2 or 2x as big so that there isn't going to be a power struggle. As for the chromis, I've got 4 blues along with a pair of perculas in a 58 and have zero problems.

you know that the bigger one is very particular, its up to the bigger one to see if he/she will let the other to coexits with each other. I have a clarki and lost 2 already due to her agressiveness, im on my third fish already, and this time its seems to be working. i know its bad but at least they are tank raised

Thanks for the input. I'll try a smaller one when the time comes and if it doesn't work I won't try again.

A.ocellaris is a relatively docile species. Captive bred ones are even more sociable. However, it's still advisable you get a clown of drastically different size. If your current fish is small, get a large one (vice versa). This is your best bet.

As for Chromis sp., they shouldn't conflict with the Amphiprion sp. However, I recommend against them in a 38 gallon that's already stocked with 3 (soon to be 4) other fish.

Hi all,

I posted this question at rcentral yesterday but got no response. Hopefully, someone here can help me. I've got a 35g. hex and am buying a 55g tank. I currently have one tank raised clown (with a flame hawk and 6line) in my 35g. I'd like to get another one (tr ocellaris) for the 55. If I get a smaller clown and put him in the new tank will they get along or should I not try? Also, could I add 3 blue-green chromis or will they not get along with the clown?

The clown is my favorite fish so he's the most important.

Thanks in advance
