Fluidized bed as a Calcium Reactor

I have an FB 600 fluidized bed by Lifegard that I am thinking of converting to a calcium reactor. Has anybody done this? The flidized bed already operates on the same concept. Water is circulated through it with a dedicated powerhead. If I replace the sand media in it now with some calcium reactor media and add a CO2 system, wouldn't it be about the same thing?

Funny, I was thinking the same thing last night. I even have an old bed filter still setting under the tank. Anybody have any thoughts on whether this will work or not?
