I feed my tangs a few times a week with the nori sheets but I never soak them for the reason you stated but I supplement those feedings with mysis shrimp, brine, krill, and squid. I always soak these in either selcon or garlic. That way the fish still get all the essential vitamins. I have never tried soaking nori. Too much of a pain if you ask me.

I heard about the garlic thing in the past but forgot the reason for it. Can you refresh my memory?

i was wondering if you can soak sheet algae in vitamins such as selcon and then dry it out, but retain the vitamins in the food. the reason i am asking is that the algae tends to break up quickly if it is wet before i put it in the tank. if i could dry it first the theory is that it will stay together better.
