I have a leather coral that does not seem to be doing so well. The water is fine and all of my other corals are perfect. The leather began by opening and closing from one extreme to the other, Now for the last several weeks he has begun to shed profusely. It started in just one corner and now is spreading. Is this normal? I have done numerous water changes, but this has not helped. Please advise.

Is it umbrella leather?
I have one and the bristle worms burrowed in it.I discovered a tiny hole in the middle on the top.I had to dissect it(cut in half),than I've seen the darn things inside.Use a tweezer to remove 'em,they sting.
So,I had two halfes and they all do fine after. They heal in 1-2 weeks.
Try to keep them elevated on smooth shells or stones where the worms has to be exposed to climb to them.
Good luck!FM.

They like lots of current which helps them get rid of the shedding. Try that to see if it works for a couple of days.
