I just purchased the gallon refills from Premium Aquatics, but I just found out that ReefFanatic has it cheaper. I never ordered from them, so I don't know about their service, but I do know that PA has great service, never a problem with them. So maybe the extra money is worth it.

Be aware that some places will charge a shipping surcharge on B-Ionic. Premium Aquatics does not.

The Champion and ESV are both the same amount. They send it out in two 6g buckets in concentrated form. You then add your own RO/DI water and dilute it making 5g worth of B-Ionic. Each bucket of Part 1 and Part 2 is 5g equaling 10g all together. I get mine from Champion. this is a very good deal. I have not ordered any for about 7 months but I do remember it took 8 weeks for me to get it from Champion. If it is still taking a while to get you will want to order before you run out.

I don't know if ESV's description of "10 gal. unit concentrate in 5 gal. pails" is the same as albee has mention, or if it is twice as much.

The website is:

ESV

They list it for $114. If albee's suggestion at the Champion site is for the same amount, then that's a heck of alot better deal, but if it is HALF the amount, the above is, of course, a much better price.

slojmn1-

I'm more than a little slow, so please bare with me...

You stated that "You then add your own RO/DI water and dilute it making 5g worth of B-Ionic"

Did you mean that you add water to create 10g of B-ionic, composed of 5 gallons of each part, for a total of 10 gallons?

THe actual total amount is very important to me, considering the cost.

Hey! Who has tried (besides me) the Two Little Fishes version of the 2-part alk/calcium? Not only did I find it A LOT less expensive (I did not have to add nearly as much to achieve results), it seems to perform the same as the B-Ionic! For those of us with large tanks or a small budget, the cost difference is significant.

Good luck,

C-Balance, Tech CB and B-Ionic are all essentially the same product. Especially with the new Kent formula which is stronger. C-Balance usually is more expensive than B-Ionic IME, however I'm surprised you found you didn't need to add as much. It's not that C-Balance is the different, it's just that the dosages for Kent and ESV are rather high. I've yet to find a tank that needs anywhere near that amount for maintenance.
