I need to get a new VHO ballast to replace an old magnetic one that got fried.

I really want to get an electronic ballast.

Premium Aquatics has a few choices (some are actually VERY cheap), but I'm leaning toward getting the Icecap 660. Icecap just has been around for so long and I think they have a good reputation. Anyone have any feedback on the Icecap (both positive and negative would be appreciated). Anyone care to recommend something besides the Icecap? I currently run only two 48" 110 watt bulbs, but like the thought of upgrading to four 48" 110 watts or even getting a bigger system and using the Icecap to run larger bulbs.

Your help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Eboman

I have the Icecap 3000 and the 430.
I like them both.
Very easy to retro fit in my old NO fixtures from Home Depot.

I have an icecap 660 and love it. Had a problem with an earlier model about 6years ago. Called icecap, they replaced it and never had a problem since. Their customer service is great.

I would never own any other make of electronic ballast, they sell and stand behind a top quality product.

Icecap ballasts are great. Only problem with the 660 is you can't control the two circuits independently. All on or all off.
