Whatever you do, don't make the same mistake I did. The day that my sump arrived, I suddenly found that it can squeeze through the door opening sideways, but then I can't turn it!! I had to take out a vertical support to allow the new sump to be moved in. It is a really scary task to do as the stand top is immediately warped as I removed the vertical support. Luckily I managed to move quickly and hammered the support back in.

Whatever the sump dimension you ordered, make sure you got turning room in the stand.

i ran a classic berlin skimmer in a 20 gallon long for 2 years. the tank was plenty big for the skimmer, 2 pumps, heater, and a large mug that the output of the skimmer poured into to reduce microbubbles returning to the tank. i would think that a normal 20 gallon would be okay but if you haven't bought the tank go with a 20 long.

Sounds like Everyone has a different stand than I do. My stand has 9 inches between the front and back center brace. I gave up on trying to find a cheap solution for a sump, and bought an aquaclear pro 75 wet/dry.

Im measuring my stand and I only have 10 1/2 inches front to back. Can i even fit a 10 gallon in there?
