Help w/ MH

I forgot to mention -
If I turn it off and let it sit for 30 min or so after the first and sometimes second try they both come on, also I notice If I turn them on before the VHO they both come on.

Does it hurt them to turn them on and off untill they both fire up ?

What kind of bulbs are the MH...I have a Hamilton 250 watt 10K that has done this from the beginning. I was told as the bulb "burns in" or gets older it would stop. Also was told to let it "reset" itself (leave it on) I have noticed that it takes less time now to come on it's only about 3 weeks old.

Thanks for the quick response, I would have posted that that my wife threw the packages away - I since found them in a bag full a paper that she got ahold of this morning.

They are USHIO 175 Watt MH
UHI-S 175W 10,000K on the side.

And you are saying when it goes off just to let the other one run and the one that went off will eventually reset itself and pop back on ?

From what I have been told.....yes. I am still kinda new to the MH also. But I have found that mine is getting better at coming on faster as it gets older. Yes just leave it on and it should fire up. The coming on and going off is the ballast resetting which I was told is normal. Also what kind of ballast is it I am using the PFO.

Not Rule sure, I think is a PFO I would have to check to be sure.
I guess I will see how it works after working for awhile, They were only on about 2 hours yesterday and I just got them turned on today a few minutes ago and will probably only run them for a few hours today to.

I just bought a MH/VHO 48" Hood from Marine Depot and it arrived yesterday -
No instructions or anything -
It came w/ 2 URI VHO FL and 2 10K MH

When I switch on the VHO everything is fine, Not as bright as I thought they would be -
Then I go to switch on the MH's and they start coming on, and within a few minutes one of the bolbs goes off and the other stays on - Usually it is the same bulb that does this.

Is it a bad bulb or what ?

Any Help is appreciated.
