I am finding it difficult to find many stores that sell good livestock for my 46 gallon Reef Aquarium in the Boston Area.

I have noticed many web sites that sell and there prices are outragous. I am however reluctant to fork over money, pay high shipping charges and get a bad/dead product. So I am writing to find out what everyone else felt on the topic.

Please name a few of the companies that you have delt with (if you could list the web link it would be great) and any suggestions of reputable companies that have good prices to stock my new tank. It would be much appreciated.

Specifically, I am thinking about placing an order with www.reeftopia.com there prices are great and seem to have excellant stock.

The only MO company that I have experience with is www.exoticfish.com. They have a 9 for $99 special that is pretty good. The only drawbacks from ordering through the net is that you don't see what your getting and the added stress that the corals go though. The corals I recieved were of good quality and even with the $60 shipping charge, the prices were cheaper than any LFS. Just be careful what you order, Xenia for example, does not ship very well. Also keep in mind the time of year you order...very hot or cold weather could be a disaster if the package is delayed for any length of time.

Yup...all the above unless you are in the stony coral and clam market....You might take a look at Dr. Mac and Sons, Atlantis Aquatics, Dynamic Ecomorphology, and a few others for stony corals and clams

I know about twenty inernet stores, and I agree that the ones listed above are the best, -Marine Depot, Premium Aquatics, Flying Fish Express... Never had any experience with reeftopia. Oh yeah, you have to check out the Marine Center- www.themarinecenter.com -They are probably your best bet for fish and corals-My advice is that you should go for the better stores for livestock, the extra price is well worth the extra money. FOr drygoods, I think any of the online stores are fine, since they really can't screw up drygoods. Look for the places that guarantee lowest prices on net, like www.aquatictech.com.

reeftopia is a good site. I have ordered from them a few times with no problems. Also, check out ffexpress.com, they are also a good company. I get my corals from etropicals and they always look very nice. Hope this helps you some.

reeftopia is great if you like FLorida livestock. I got a wild collected montipora digitata from premium aquatics a week ago. It's doing great ...so far. premium aquatics has great customer service, so does reeftopia as i recall.

Premium aquatics all the way!

In my experience/opinion, ffexpress SUCKS, they sell crap, they'd ship you a dead coral/fish just so that you could get some credit so it would force/entice you into making another order.
