My beautiful sailfin tang appears to have had a nasty encounter with a bristle worm. Hes swimming around actively, eating, and doesnt appear to be in any pain (or even to notice it) but I dont see how it cant be painful -- it looks like he wrestled a cactus.

Is this anything to worry about, or is he going to be OK?

Thanks!

The needles are CaCO3. It will disolve and fall off in a few days. There is nothing you can do. I used to have a Maroon clown that often attack a Bristle worm every few days. he got a mouthful of bristle very few weeks and cannot eat for two or three days. My clown never learn. He must have this happened to him 10+ times.
