Does anyone know where to get a stand made for a 180 gal acrylic. I wwould get it from the tank manufacturer but they want 1300$ for the stand and the canopy.
My 2 cents: as a GENERAL rule, the more you pay for a stand, the more you get. Especially if it is made out of wood products.
I believe that something that weighs around 2000lbs deserves a solid stand. Do you have kids that will be playing around it or leaning against it regularly, etc? Most times the lateral pressure on the stand (as opposed to the constant downward force) is what eventually makes it fail. The cheaper stands will usually seriously lack in the lateral support area. It will help immensely if you can anchor it to a wall.
