DIY Liverock

check out my tank below, almost all of it is " homemade live rock" made out of crushed oyster shell and concrete( dont rem which kind) i made it 4 years ago, kept it in tubs for 2 years( didnt need it) then set up my tank 2 years ago with 1/2 of what i made before(below) and now i am going to use the rest of it to add to my the new tank i am setting up end of aug, it is really good stuff, it will keep you ph up for a long time(good thing, no additives) and my calcium has always been high( from the oyster shells)
i did soak it for several months before i used it.. good luck, i got the idea off of GARF

Just tearing down my freshwater tank, I have a lot of "lace" rock. Can this be used as "base" rock or to build my reef? I am planning on adding live rock to seed the lace, but I didn't know if there was anything bad about the lace rock. Thanks!
