Best filtration for a 10 gal prop tank?

I'm thinking of 3" sand, lots of macros and a powerhead. What do you all think? Are there any corner filters or such that work well?

I'm obviously not too concerned with skimming as the tank will only have xenias and monti's in it.

Believe it or not I used a skilter on a very similar project. I used an airstone instead of the venturi to eliminate the noise. Worked pretty good and it provided some circulation too. Bob
