OK folks, MicroChip just tweaked things a bit, so starting now (7/26/01, 2:00 pm EST), please take a second to observe the performance of the board, and the site in general. I know quite a few of you have had issues in the past, and we're working to correct them, so we'd appreciate your feedback here.

Well if my calculations are correct, you should see it about 1/2 as frequently as you used to. Our ISP limits the number of concurrent CGI threads on our cpu. I've modified the way we use UBB to use one process per page instead of 2 so we'll see if my theory holds.

I was reading this thread yesterday at work and when I hit the back button it did it LOL.
I am using DSL at home and I noticed it slowed down alot when you changed over from what you were using months ago but now I can see improvement. The pages load faster, thanx to all of the admins for providing better services for us. I know we may whine at times
but it's nice to know someone cares to improve this board. Oh one other thing I have tried to delete some of my posts and it doesn't let me and sometimes when I post it does the sevices thing and I end up double posting if I hit reload(just feedback not complaining)

FWIW Jerry, we have shut off the feature that allowed posters to delete their own posts. On a few occassions, whole threads have disappeared because the original post was deleted by the thread originator, and folks have also deleted posts from flame wars to try to distance themselves from the activity. Editing posts is obviously still allowed, and anyone who makes a double post can feel free to bring it to my attention for removal.
