R/O Unit, newbie...

Hello.
Kicking around the idea of buying a R/O unit.
Getting sick of going to the grocery store and dragging
5 gallons of water each week.

Anyways, I've been thinking of going with a R/O unit.
Couple other reefers in the area use just on R/O unit,
and have had no problems.

I noticed the special on AquaFX 15% off. Woot.
What other pieces of equiptment would I need?
Do I need something to check the water pressure?
How long do the membranes last? How much is a new
membrane? What are the cost assoicated with a
R/O unit?

I have a 3-stage Dolphin 50GPD unit from AquaFX and I am very pleased with the unit's construction as well as their customer service. My unit came a pressure gage and a wrench. My water needs are not too great, so I opted for the 50GPD unit. The 100GPD unit was not much more, however.

The unit was very well packed. With shipping it came to around $160. That was this past March. I am not sure if prices have gone up.

The AquaFX website lists membrane life expectance and replacement costs.

I have my RO/DI unit plumbed under my sink and drink the water! So you might want to add a pressurized storage tank
