I have a pink soft coral I got on sale at the fish store. It's either a finger leather or a colt coral. It is bent over and not standing up, but the Xenia and the Anemnia (Spelling) are fine. I use Caluim, Tech M, Idione, S & M and a protein skimmer.
Temp is at 75 - 76 degrees.

Thanks,
Greg

Very funny.

Seriously, I have a large Kenya Tree coral that is moody and will occasionally go "limp". It will be in a bad mood for a half a day or so. It comes back big and beautiful every time.

If it doesn't come back within a day or so, I would make sure it has ample flow to make sure nothing is attacking the flesh.

If you just added the coral, there may be nothing to worry about. The change and stress may make it unhappy for awhile. Is the current in that area of the tank appropriate for the type of coral? Is there any critter that may be bothering it? It is good to specifically identify your coral so you can place it in the best lighting and current for that species. Also as was mentioned earlier, healthy soft corals may occasionally go limp. This does not usually last very long (a day or so).

My soft coral has been in there a week and a half and I think it is a Finger Leather Soft Coral and is light pink. Maybe I should post a picture so you can see it.

Do you dose kalkwasser and iodine. Softies seem to respond well to iodine supplements. Softies also like their PH at a healthy, constant, level.

Are you sure its not a "carnation" soft coral. These often come in pink, post a pic.

Make sure there is no close corals that mey sting it like hammer or frogspawn or other LPS.

Sometimes it takes a little patience. Maybe it's shy. I think it's cute.

Give it time. Also check your alkalinity. Both my finger leathers(Sinularia) were closed up for close to two months when my alk was below 2.6 meq/L.
