Aptasia on a new clam

Hi all,
I bought a 4" Maxima from Jeff's on Tuesday I noticed today there are a few Aptasia on it. What would be the best way to remove the Aptaisa? I was thinking of just taking the clam out and scrubing them off with a tooth brush. Do you think this will KILL them?

I've been lucky in my years as a reefer and never had to deal with them.

I wouldn't scrub them off. Any small piece left and they will grow back. Use a sharp knife or alike and scrape them off. Then rinse with tank water to make sure all is removed. I'm disappointed that they sent it out like that.

No, Jeff did not send it out like that, When I went to his shop Tuesday I noticed most of the Clams had them. I thought I had picked one without them....
