I'm new to reefkeeping.I've had a finger leather coral for about 4weeks. He looks healthy except i've never seen the yellow polyps come out. Tried different spots in the tank. Feeding him Kent phytoplankton. Water parameters look good.Calcium bit low 380mg/L. Same story with my open brain coral. Had him 2 weeks. Bubble coral looks great. Any suggestions or just wait. THANKS
(90 gal. tank)

How old is your tank? How's the Nitrite and nitrate level? Obviously there is something in your water that corals don't like. What is your lighting setup? Ph? Alkalinity? How much current in your tank? The coral you mentioned loves currents.

Soft corals dont need any calcium....try iodine supplements....also leather corals are sometimes like that..they dont swell up for a while. Give it a little more time.

My leather has been known to close up for several weeks at a time. Get it in some medium to high flow to help it shed mucous and it should do fine. They're very hardy, so don't worry to much if it doesn't open. It's normal.
