I have been setting up a new tank becouse my corals have grown and are now killing each other.

Tank is 55 gallons,
contains a 4 inch live sand bed that I collected of a reef in the florida keys, and 90 pounds of figi live rock. I currently have a homemade skimmer to cure the rocks.

I have never had a tank without a skimmer, and i thought I would try it on this tank. But then I thought that becouse I do not have a skimmer there would not be enough oxygen. My question is, If i do not have a skimmer, do I have to have and airstone and air pump running anyway?

You could always test the O2 levels in your tank with a test kit.

If they're low you could run an oxygen reactor.

If you don't mind, I'd like to append my own question to your post and ask if there are any people out there who run skimmerless and use oxygen reactors.

Seems reasonable since the bio-demand of O2 could possibly be a wee bit higher in a skimmerless tank (mind you, barring other environmental parameters such as photosythetic plankton density, lighting levels, etc...).
