Whats up with Old Town Aquatics??? I was in the city Saturday and we happened to pass it by. I'd never heard of it so we stopped in and God Damn!!! they have like 4 of everything, including some kind of irredescent $900.00 fish! They are slightly overpriced, but just by looking at the livestock and the surprisingly knowledgable staff I was impressed and they will be getting my business. Anyone have any experience with these guys?

Yes, they are generally overpriced, but they do have some bargins if you know what to look for. They also tend to get more unusual species, like the $900 8" purple frogfish/leaffish (I think that is what it is) with the mirrowed eyes. I have shown my wife that fish on more than one occassion - just because it is such an interresting fish.

But so far, she hasn't "suggested" that I should buy it.

(I keep hoping I will catch here in a moment of weakness).

They also stand behind there fish. About a month ago, I bought a minniatus grouper for the FOWLR tank in my office. When I came in the next day, it was dead.

I took him back to the Old Town to see if we could figure out what happened. They were convinced that it was attacked, probably by my annularis angle. Nevertheless, they gave me full credit towards another fish. I thought that was pretty decent since, if my annualris really did kill the grouper, it wasn't Old Town's fault.
