I have numerous tiny white snails between the mantle and the shell. I took the clams out of the water and pulled as much of them off as possible. I know they are deadly to my clams, and I wont be able to get a six line wrase in the tank for a couple of days. Any ideas?

Manual removal is the only thing you can do. Even if you do get a wrasse, I would continue removing them by hand first thing in the morning. Keep an eye out for egg masses often laid on the shell. Remove these also.

I found some of these darn snails on a couple of my clams in the past month. I have been removing them with tweezers in the wee hours of the night and morning. I originally found 5-6, lately just one every now and again. I am also looking for egg sacks but have not found any. The two clams that I have found the snails on seem undisturbed by them. Probably due to the very few I have found. Still I worry about it. I inspected each clam very closely before adding to my tank. Weird, maybe they had some eggs on them and I missed that. I have a couple of clams exhibiting some retraction of their mantles, these clams have never had a snail that I could see on them. But maybe they are hidded and I can't see them. What a drag, I feel for you and you are not alone.
