How often do shrimps molt?

I just recently got a cleaner shrimp. Since being in my tank, for 1 month, it has molted twice, is this normal?

Mine molt every 3 - 4 weeks. When I introduced my latest one it molted twice within the first few weeks. I would think that is normal and not to worry.

Hi, I have a coral banded shrimp and it has molted 3 times in the last 1 1/2 months. I wouldn't worry, it quite normal. Especially if they are young.

I have read, but cannot confirm this personally, that they molt in the wild each lunar cycle during the new moon. This is because they are most vulnerable right after molting, so it is better to be done when the night is darkest.

Im sure this cycle is thrown off in captivity somewhat, though.

Overdosing of Iodine will also cause a shrimp to molt ofter....Premature molting..
