They're probably between 3200 and 4000K; most industrial MH is in that range. They'll put out a ton of light but will be very yellow... most people don't like the way these bulbs look over a tank, but if you're just trying to light it up and don't care about color they would probably be fine.

Stress on the very. We tried a Philips 250W from home depot just for grins, I would call it orange.

My local Home Depot has all Phillip's MH bulbs (175w - 400w ) reduced for clearance $20.00 each.

Anyone have an idea what K do these light at ?

FWIW, a friend of mine is using those bulbs, and while they are yellow, he tells me that they get whiter over time...but I'm thinking that he's just gotten used to the color. Either way, he's also using 2 URI VHO's to combat the yellow. However, he does get some really good coloration out of that bulb setup....
