Back from 7 day trip...tank question

Hello,

I just returned from a 7 day trip, and had a live in house sitter taking care of the tank.

She did a great job, only responsible for daily C-balance, water top off and feeding.

The parameters are all fine, and most fish and inverts are fine, however my Yellow tang and coral beauty both have areas of scalloped or ragged fins, which have NEVER been seen before...

Any ideas why this may be? The tank is a 75 that has been set up for 14 months. As I said, the parameters are fine, nitrate is up a bit at 15 ppm, but I'm due for a water change and the inverts look fine.

PS - I have underwater pictures I will scan in from the trip....snorkeling in cozumel, mexico and grand cayman.....incredible!!

Hmmmm...Cozumel...Grand Cayman...Did you cruise?

I ask because I'm booked for an April western carribean cruise, and I'm really looking forward to getting into the water at those two ports. How are the reefs there doing?

Hello,

It was great.....I don't care about the sterotypes of cruises.....we had a great time and I can't imagine a better vacation for the $$...Grand Cayman snorkel was incredible.........took a boat out 4 miles and snorkeled a great reef.....nurse sharks, rays, moray, tons of fish and corals and inverts......water was neon blue and visibility was forever.....I would have stayed in for days, but had about 75 min and then went to swim with the stingrays....email me if you have any questions

If you are like many of us, you stressed: DO NOT OVERFEED MY FISH!!! If anything I would prefer you to underfeed, they won't die of starvation in the time I'll be gone.
Well if they followed your request, there may have been some additional aggression over the available food.
