You've got lots of choices, and it ultimately depends on your budget. It's better if you list options you're considering or a price range.

I'm considering a fairly small (not Nano) reef tank focusing primarily on soft corals, mushrooms, etc. This will probably be in the 30-55 gal range (I'm leaning towards a 50 breeder) with a DSB.
What would you recommend for lighting? I'm hoping to stay away from the inverts that need super-intense lighting (clams, sps corals, etc) and am comfortable with a DIY approach...
I want this to be a fairly simple low-tech tank.

(I am currently keeping a tropical marine FO tank, a temperate marine FOLR tank, and a handful of freshwater tanks. About 10 years ago I kept what we thought was a reef but was really FOLR (collected our own specimens in FL along jetties and rubble zones) with flo. lighting. I have both Moe books, Fenner's Con. Marine Aquarist, and more issues of AFM, TFH and FAMA than I have room for, but I'd like to hear what's worked for you...)
I'm leaning towards a DIY PC solution, but I want to really think this thru...

Thanks
