Hello,

I again have a question on my new Bubble Coral ( Thanks to all who replied to my last post ). He is eating fine, but seems to "shrink up" at different times during the day. As near as I can tell, no hermit crabs happen to walk through him or anything like that. I paniced a bit the other night, se seemed to be expelling something, and I thought that he was a goner, but later that night was "bubbly

" again. I gues he was just expelling what food he couldn't digest.
So, my question is, is he getting too much or maybe not enough light. He is in a 29 gallon tank with 165 watts of power compact lighting. He is about half way up the tank, with medium to light water flow. The tank that he was in at the store was about 40 gallons, under maybe 100 watts of light at most, it did not have halide or power comact lighting for sure.

I am puzzled....

I believe you bubble was expelling some zooxanthelea (sp?)algea. this is the symbiotic algea that all corals have a relationship with. Some corals expels copius amounts of this algea wwhen relocated into new conditions.

Or....he was takin a poop.

Whichever, nothing to worry about.
