My gorgeous, healthy, wonderful Scott's Fairy Wrasse jumped.

I have no idea where he found a hole, it all looks pretty well secured to me. I used gutter guard to seal off my canopy. He must have made the leap though the night, he didn't show up when the lights came on and I found him under the tank.

Be careful with your jumpers.

Sorry, not long ago I found mine swimming frantically in the corner overflow. After a very stressful rescue it hid in the LR for a couple of day but is now out and about. Cool wrasses but bonified jumpers.

Definitely had character. He was such a beggar!!! He would eyeball me as soon as I walked in the room. If I let the glass go a little too loing between cleanings, he would find a clear spot and watch me.

Yup, we had a gorgeous Yellow-streaked Fairy Wrasse in our open topped 72 gallon reef portion of the 220 system but he leaped out about 2 months ago. He was fine prior, very layed back and didn't seem to have any jumping tendancies. Whats really sad is he missed the sump by inches. He might still be alive if he had landed there.

I've had to resort to putting eggcrate over all my tank's openings to keep my wrasse inside. So far, so good. But I'm in the process of adding Spiderlight reflectors to my MHs to make up for the light loss.

Thank you all. I am very disappointed in myself, because as fishfarmer said, I've had some bad luck. And he was so perfect!

So the eggcrate does make a difference in the quality of light? I thought it would, but so many people use it...

Sorry to hear TG...

I lost a watchman goby like that. He was a new fish that I added. I left the room for an about 30 minutes and blam he went carpet munchin. I found him in the carpet and put him in the tank right away. No telling how long he was out but I never saw the poor guy again. I would guess my hermits or my Coral Banded ate him up...

i had a lawnmower blenny jump out after about 30 days in the tank. the next day i added the egg-crate. i didn't notice any dimminished light and nothing else has been able to escape. it may depend on the type of lights, though. i don't have MH, just 4 VHO tubes.
