Oops...
I know this forum is only for fish and invertebrates And I enjoy it to much, but I have a small problem but this time is not with my corals now it's with my parrot! I've been looking for a good forum about parrots without any success, then I thought if you guys love fish, you love animals and maybe you love birds....could help me? Do you know a good forum. Sorry for the intrusion. And thank you for your replies.

Not sure if it has a forum, but this is a fantastic parrot rescue organization -

www.fosterparrots.com

You'd probably be interested in their mailing list.

And there are actually quite a few folks here with parrots. Come to the sump and ask the same question. Or just wait and this thread will end up there anyway.

There is a good forum at www.toolady.com it isn't just for one species of bird. There are people that specialize in macaws, cockatoos, quakers, and finches. I myself have a Chestnut crested macaw (severe macaw) and a Quaker.

Hope this helps!

I have noticed that there have been MANY references to people on this board who have parrots! I, too, have a quaker. I guess that expensive, demanding, delightful, and wonderful animals appeal to both reefers and aviarists. I have found the following websites to be of interests for birders and have used them for info/questions/articles/supplies:
http://www.busybeaks.com/
http://www.birdtimes.com/
http://www.petbirdreport.com/advertisers/accessories.html
http://www.parrotchronicles.com/winter2001/index.htm

I am sure that one of these sites will lead you to a discussion board.
Glad to help a fellow reefer/aviarist!

Attached is a picture of our parrot, thus my name on the boards. I have not seen a great forum for parrots though...

Serpent,
Hyacinths are known to be 'gentle giants.' They are the largest of the parrot species yet are generally very good-natured and affectionate. However they are not great talkers--our says 'hello', whistles, and mimics certain household noises. Attached is another photo w/ my wife and other pets. hyacinth

That is a beautiful Hyacinth. I have two macaws - a Blue and Gold and also a Green Wing. I got them from a breeder in Meringo, Illinois who also breeds Hyacinths. She gets 7,000.00 for them.

Was definately out of my price range. They are absolutely beautiful and LOUD when they get screeching.

My wife and I have an African grey, Blue & Gold Macaw, Mollocan Cockatoo, 2 Lilac crown amazons.
We have not checked on many forums, but I believe that Bird Talk magazine has one.

Hyacinth, your a lucky #@$%^ to have a bird like that. We found a local shop with a one year old going for a mere 10,000. Would love to have one.
