Blue Halide

Hi All,
Whats makes a blue Halide? I have a 10K german currently without any atnics and it is a real nice clear white lighting, i was hoping it would be blue. Adding blue atnics would make any differnce?

hi.
Even a 20,000 K bulb is not that blue. Yes, adding actinic will help.

Thanks for the reply, what suggestions would you say for attnics? PC or VHO?

uri brand vho bulbs is what you want . from my experience you will have a better color with the vho.... good luck

I have 2 each 175watt 10k MH and 2 each 55watt actinics and have been very happy with the blue tint they give. If i run the actinics only it gives a really good blue color.
just my $.02...

BLV (sold in the US as ushio) make a blue MH bulb called the colorlite. I haven't seen these or the radium blues but I would assume they are pretty similar.

I have a blueline bulb that a bought from Champion Lighting. I added a 10k PC and an Actinic PC 55 watt bulb. I really like the color. You can see pics on my website, and a breakdown of the equipment used.
