I was at my LFS this weekend, and saw a nice piece of LR with an anenome on it. When I asked about the anenome, the owner told me it was an Atlantic anenome and it might eat my clown if it tries to use it for a host. He said that he has seen them host a clown, but has read that they will sometimes not accept the clown and eat it and I might not want to take that chance. The anenome was about 2" in diameter and has long purple/brown tentacles with bright purple tips. I don't know the scientific name.
Anyone have any experience with one? Will it eat me Maroon clown? Also, this is a FOWLR tank, would a trigger or a puffer bother the anenome? I don't have either of these yet, but I am looking to get one or both soon.
Thanks,
Ryan
