cant find the other post, but anyone living in upper westchester there is a store in fishkill called fishtopia. took nanchil to it today. they have a large selection of everything, fish to corals, finally got them to set up a few frag tanks as well, price's arent bad and great looking items. even if you arent close it's worth the drive. most of my zoo's came from them. plus knowledgable people working there, is the same as any other lfs if you dont ask they wont tell. { dont blame them though it is a business and if you point something out they figure you know what it is }

I think that's kind of insulting. Everyone is intitled to there own opinion. He may like that store, like you may like another. Like they say"if you don't have something good to say, don't say anything at all"

no i dont work there and have been several time's. maybe the differance is i am a buying not a gazer. never had any problems there and i go every other week almost. have a large selection of zoo's at a decent price really. never had a fish die from them either. this is my opinion

I wen with Rick to this store. That store is nice. They carry a very good variety of corals and fishes. Reasonable price too.

A gazer are you kidding I have been reefkeeping for longer than you can imagine and all I'm saying is that the store is not what you claimed at all.If you think that what determines a good store is what variety of zoo's they have tells me all I need to know about what type of reefkeeper you are.

ok since you are so down on that store, what makes it a bad store ? the products ? the service ? you got shafted ? just you saying it's a bad store doesnt mean it is. ive been there quite often and never had a problem, and actually its the only place i have bought from that never had anything die or cause problems in my tank, fair price's on most thing's better than alot of the thing's on here price wise. and 3 of the 5 that i have met that work there seem to know what they are talking about. this is my personal experiance. so why do you feel this is a horrible store ?

Unfortunately there is very little in the way of quality LFS stores in the Putnam/Dutchess county areas. Fishtopia is one of the few decent ones IMO.
The store hasn't been around all that long and the owner continues to improve.

i know everyone has opinions, good or bad, like i said i cant complain, never been done wrong there and really since i am a zoo and shroon person, they do have a large selection and after asking them to set up some frag tanks they finally did, plus really for colonies of zoo's 100 to 200 polyps for $55 isnt bad and like i said they have a decent selection of everything. this is just my personal experiance with them. and anyone having had a bad experiance i would love to know why so maybe i have something to watch for with them
