i used kent, then reef crystals, then the new sea chem, now IO.

I did not like sea chem, lots of white residue left in the mixing bucket, and it took forever to disolve.

I want to try tropic marin, but I can't bring myself to spend twice the money for salt.

I started my tank using the Tropic Marin Pro salt and liked it very much. The cost was higher but the quality was excellent. I also could not find it locally in the large bucket, so the shipping killed it for me. As Ronen mentions, it dissolves very rapidly and completely. No need to wait when doing a water change. I found no difference in salinity whether it was just mixed or sat for a day or 2 afterward.

I'm currently using the Red Sea Coral Pro salt as it has helped boost my calcium level above the 370 that I can't seem to pass even though I am using the ESV 2 part. My thought is that once I finish off the what I have now, my tank should be that much more mature and stability should not be as challenging as with a new tank.
I will be going back to the Tropic Marin Pro Salt.
