Looking for a plastic bin for sump idea

Does anyone have a cost effective way for doing a large sump? I was thinking something made out of Polyethylene.

40 gallon breeder during dollar per gallon sale is pretty much as cheap as you can get.

A used rectangular polyethylene sump with a couple of filter socks and a drop in pump and you are all set. Or drill a hole for a bulkhead for an external pump. I've purchased several at the Trade Fair Hardware in Amityville, Long Island, but that was years ago. Good luck!

rubber maid makes 100 gal tubs, reasonably priced. make a good sump if you dont have to look at it.

Then your definitely best off with one of those rubbermaid stock tanks

I use bulk bin it's 4x4 around 200gal they also have a smaller one. You have to support the bottom tho to avoid cracking.

You may not be able to use these. Would have to see what type of plastic it's made out of. It could possibly leach bpa or other chemicals into the water.

true, althou never heard of a leaching bpa problem. Easy to check, look at recycling number. http://www.wikihow.com/Identify-Food-Grade-Buckets
