question to those that use kalk. I been using it for over a yr now. Does wonders for my tank. I add it to my ato. When I need to refill the reservor, I take out the old kalk and add fresh kalk. I wanted to know if anybody just add water to the old kalk instead of changing it out and putting in fresh kalk?

I just keep adding but took it off my ato after an incident with my skimmer overflowing and dumped my kalk into the tank. I run it in a Geo reactor with a standard alone dosing pump.

i was going to try just adding water with the old kalk but wasn't sure if it was going to be potent as a fresh batch of kalk

It's fine, you can leave the old in there and mix a new batch up with it. I rinse out the bucket and pump a few times a year, that's it.
Yeah kalk is great, easy and cheap. A rarity in this hobby, lol.
