New to the reef game

My friend Alfredo Delafe is introducing me to the hobby. I live in the Upper West Side of Manhattan. I look forward to learning and meeting many of you.

Hi Danny and welcome aboard!

You're just getting the tank now, so it will be a little while before it's up and running and ready for livestock, so try and do as much reading as you can before you start, and ask all the questions that you can. It's a rewarding and fun hobby but patience is important.

Hey All:

Danny is a friend of mine... Another friend sold him an 80 Gallon RR set-up with the rock, sand, lighting, sump, skimmer, basically everything he needs to get up and running.

He picks up the tank next Saturday and within two weeks we will upgrade his T5 fixture for an LED set-up.

Basically he just needs to buy the salt, sand, RO water (until he orders his RO unit), refractometer and other "basics". I will be helping him get it up and running. But all of the rock has been in this tank for a year. (It needs a good scrubbing to get rid of some algae, but other than that it is nice rock!)

I'm getting myself back into the game as well. I spent a few hours today working on my 40 and doing a water change. I am probably going to be selling off my 180 and will be posting stuff for sale over the next several weeks. I will turn around and invest that into my 40. Need to get a new (smaller) chiller and a few other things...

Went with Danny and picked up his tank yesterday! What an AMAZING deal he got. Later during the week I will be helping him put it all together. Right now the liverock is safe in a rubbermaid container with a circulation pump.

I believe im met you at the reef shoppe during that massive sale last weekend. I was talking to you in the back by the corals about various corals and lights.

Welcome to the hobby, its an incredible experience if you try to get the most out of it you can. Great learning experience as well.
