I'm in the process of wanting to plumb my skimmer in through my drain. There is EXTREMELY limited amounts of space i had to remove a baffle inorder to situate the skimmer correctly... nothing is glued yet so i would appreicate some advice on what exactly should be done to plumb it in..

GOING INTO DAS EX-2 SKIMMER

My understanding is that the drain may carry lots of air and choke up the skimmer when the water flows down the drain durso.... So having this plummbed in this fashion should i be worried about the air killing the flow of the skimmer? Or should i be okay? Any ideas or suggestions would be GREATLY APPRECIATED.

thank you,
Aaron.

It's hard to tell from the pic how you will have the T oriented as it appears to be resting on it's side. Just to be clear, the bottom part of the T is to feed the skimmer. The side part of the T is a mixture of air and water. The top part of the T is from the drain.

from drain

..................mixture of air and water

to skimmer

Ideally, the longer the run from the T to the skimmer the better. This allows more time and space for air to rise back to the middle part of the T and escape from there. It can be done in small spaces though. My thread on my 58 had pics and........I'll just get the link.

It's going to be very hard to feed the skimmer with pure water and not an air mix. Consider moving the skimmer to the far left part of the sump thereby giving a longer run for air to escape. You want a slight downward slope towards the skimmer so that air can rise back to the T. In theory that should allow air to escape.

A longer vinyl tube should allow this.

that sounds fine i can increase the vinyl and try to put a slight downward slope.. Curious in my other thread you mentioned to support the pipes specifically what do you mean? thank you fred :) greatly appreciate your input.
