How long will the prices stay in the clouds???? I have seen different vendors selling them from high to rediculous !! , I think they are nice but do you really think they are worth that much??? What's your take on the latest pocket ripping craze???

Ugly fish surely not worth over $100, the person buying one for over $1000 must be smoking those funny cigarettes. Seriously there are so many beautiful fish that you can get under $50

I totally agree and I know people who have to have it at any cost , and hey that's their money , if they have it to burn go for it , but when does the average joe get to buy one for a realistic price?

Ok I have to disagree on this I'm not into designer clowns but the lightning clown is hands down by far the coolest most beautiful pattern I've ever seen on a designer clown that being said I'd never pay it but if I was into breeding or collecting designer clowns u can bet ur bottom $ I'd have my sights on one!
Great story behind it and just really awesome looking clown

They are awesome to look at , but it's a sad thing to wake up in those first 3 days to a dead clown or two lol then it doesn't seem so cool. Just can't believe the prices these days for something that can croak at any given moment , I never understood the whole designer clown fad.

I agree with the above statement, none have looked close to as good as original... But apparently the looks will change as they grow bigger/older.

To OP, prices will drop in a year or two. Look at golden nuggets. GNs were $400, now less than $200

Or people can just not buy them and watch the sellers panic once the clowns start growing in the tanks and picking each other off , it must be one big litter cause all of a sudden the market is flooded with these new fish......very bizarre ! Price war anyone???

You have to consider first breeding went for 6k-8k so while high for a first public release is actuall dare I say affordable. Do I need to bring the rediculousness of bounce shrooms up?

Is this the first time they released to public ?? How many generations r they in now and if u get 2 lightening clowns will they breed and give u more ?

This is F2. Technically the first time they were released to the public also as about 8 made it on ebay through Blue Zoo. However this is the first time they have been produced in any number. Actually both times it was a lightening bred to a white stripe PNG (where this anomoly originates).

The designer mushrooms and super high end zoas are out of this world in terms of price. $100 and up for a single polyp of zoa or shroom is bonkers.

Also, since clowns lay eggs every few weeks, this first release could be a mix of a few different clutches.

i see it dif. way , depend what kind of fish you compare, i got 5 clowns , 1 reg. 2 snow, 2 black ice, i find my my snows look nicer, i wish i can got more (like Lightning) but they may fight.

I think in time you'll see the prices of this type of clown, Maroon, drop big time, as unlike the other designer clowns, where you can keep multiple ones together, you can't say the same for Maroon clowns, which can even be a problem keeping them with other fish let alone multiple clowns. The size issue is also going to be a problem too, as Maroon clowns get very large, which will be a problem in most people reef tanks.

$5k for gen 1 to $700 for gen 2. It sounds like they are on the way to where they should be....another generation or two. You gotta give them time to grow up enough to spawn again.
