Hello all i have a tank that has been infected with ich and i took all the fish out and the only living thing left in there is 2 shrimp and yellow spot blenny and clenup crew. My question is if i leave the blenny and shrims and Clena up crew there will they still cary the ich or its safe to say that ich does not attach to them. Because i will be running the tank with no fish for 3 month to be n safe side .

I would remove the blenny. Why give the parasite something to feed on. Ich can attach to more then the fishes gills.

Agreed, you need to treat ALL the fish. Even if you don't see it, your yellow spot can still carry it.

The inverts and corals in your tank can't host the ich. With all the fish out of the tank, the ich will starve to death over time. Opinions vary from 1 month to 2 months...

But I thought that the Blenny are in the shrimp family and not seseptible to ick, if I put the Blenny in the quarantine he will die from the copper treatment

I havent heard that. so will need to do my homeowner on blennys and copper..

However..

I had the same fish for over 3 years with no problems and introduced a tail spot blenny without quarantining. A few weeks later I had an outbreak of ich. So I suspect the Blenny brought it in. However he never showed any signs.

I just finished running them thru a hospital tank and the tail spot survived the copper treatment. I used Cupramine.

Even if you don't want to treat him copper, you should remove him and find another way to treat him..

ok so in conclusion you all suggest taking out the blenny (which i will). Also i should be fine with leaving the coral and inverts and shrimp in the aquarium fishless which will cause the ich to starve. I will haev the tank fishless for 3 month which is 12 weeks, i know the standard is 8 weeks but i want to be on the safe side an make sure that there is no signs of ich no more. This ich cost me a beautiful achiles tang. Thank you all for the help and your insight.

Sorry for your loss. I had a Kole tang that got along great with all the over fish that I lost. I will be using a QT from now on.

I wouldn't treat a Display Tank with Copper. Many people say it can stay in the plastics and silicone and can leach out later. I think it's safer to have a QT tank just for fish.

Step 1: set up QT tanks for fish infected.

Step 2: Remove ALL fish from the display and put them into the Quarantine Tank(s)

Step 3a: Display tank: Leave it alone for 8-11 weeks. (I personally am going for 11 for 100%)
Step 3b: Quarantine: Decide your remedy to battle the ich for the fish. Hypo, Tank Transfer or Copper.

I was going to suggest something else which would allow a quicker turn around but you have to remove the corals. Basically a reverse QT.

removing corals seems like alot more work than a QT, i have a QT Now so its alot easier . with this hobby its all about patience i rather wait 11-12 weeks rathet than destroy my display. All fish have been caught and in QT tank they can sit there for the duration of the cycle 11-12weeks this will gurantee me 200% since im doing 2 things evading DT tank from ick and also copper treating the fish.

Bicolor blenny you mean? They are just as susceptible to ich as any other fish. Take him out too and treat him, from my experience they seem to be pretty hardy. Treat the fish and leave the main DT fishless. The corals and inverts will not be affected. GL
