My recently set up 30b has come down with ich. I have a quarter sized yellow eyed kole tang, blue angel (smaller than a quarter), scooter blenny, twinspot goby, engineer goby and longnose hawk are all fine except for the angel. He has ich but he is eating and otherwise healthy. I dont have a quarantine (stupid) but if I was to remove the angel and do a 100% water change using nutri seawater would that get rid of the ich? Or atleast help. Any ideas or suggestions on what to do?

- bring salinity down to HYPO 1.008 in a FO/FOWLR by removing approx 1/3 tank water then dripping in dechloraminated freshwater.

- if reef, try RUBY REEF

of course your best bet is remove and treat any and eventually all fish (except species that cant handly cu) as they develop ich in a coppered hospital tank

this is assuming the ich is really ich.. in which only solution in a reef is for it to remain fallow of any fish for at least 7-8 weeks :(

A pic would be helpful in deciding if it is ich or not.

If one fish has ich, then all of the others have been exposed to it and must be treated. Visually, you can only see Ich when it reaches a particular stage of its life, otherwise you wouldn't necessarily know that it is in your tank.

Perhaps you can ask the other reefers on SI if anyone has a QT tank and might be willing to help treat your fish maybe by loaning you their tank. Or asking a LFS store if they offer 'hospital' services. Your tank needs to remain fallow for 8-10 (ideally) weeks.

Ruby Reef is snake oil.
