Salt creep in vent for overflow pipe.

How do you guys avoid saltcreep in vent for overflow pipe.is there a trick.

I can usually tell cause the water starts to gurgle ...if I out bigger vent will it get louder???

i just check it every once in a while

Just rub it lightly, it should break up and dissolve easily. Or it could be a calcium build up

Get a toothpick and just stick it in there with your monthly routine.

Monthly routine lol....thats what i do now ...i stick a coffee stick in...what's the worst it jyst slows down the flow right.

Depending on the size of the vent I took a piece of ridged air line tubing and stuck it in the hole so it's 2" Above I don't get salt creep blocking my vent hole

That's what i have now rigid air line but to short maybe longer may help...

I have mine 2-3" above and it goes into my drain like the glass holes. I guess I should specify my ridged tubing is RO/DI line not the standard airline used for under gravel risers. I have never had salt creep issue mainly cause it goes into the water draining down the pipe so I'm not getting splashing up into the tube
