Hey guys I need some help. When shopping for a skimmer what does the foot print represent? I'm trying to.figure out if the skimmer I chose will fit in my sump. I have a 30 gallon oceanic sump 36x13x16 and I want to purchase an Aquamaxx Cone 2 which has a foot print of 13x8. Will the skimmer fit? Any help is greatly appreciated.

You need to get the measurements of the section of the sump in which the skimmer will be placed. Try to leave like at least 1 or 2 Inches of clearance so you can remove the skimmer. Also check the height of the skimmer to see if the skimmer could be removed for service once it's set in the sump.
