Vortech MP40

I just picked up my first MP40 (thanks to an MR member) and was wondering if I could hook up the battery back to an extra deep cell battery I had from my boat (type 27). Has anyone done this? According to the pdf version of the manual the back up input is 12v. BTW had to sell the boat if you think reefs are money pits try a boat

Yes I have done this and had great results.

just bulkier and ugly but does the same thing a lot cheaper. you can buy the electrical ends at radio shack.
was wondering if i can use it for tunzes.

So its as simple as matching the input fitting and hooking that straight up to the battery?

i think so, but i would research it.
i used the wrong power supply on my mp and it only ran on low speed cause it was a 12v power supply. ran on low the its supposed to with 12v. i ran it for a week like that.
