I'm going through the same thing. I've been dosing Kent Tech M. Seems to be working so far. I've been dosing 2-3 wks. There are articles online about using this method. Doesn't seem to work for everyone, but there are success story's. Hopefully, I'll be one of them. GL, you're in for a hell of a fight.

What size tank? It doesn't look that bad to me. Remove it by hand some tangs eat it as well if your tank can accomodate one. And low temprature slow the growth rate dramatically as well.

Removing it by hand won't work. As stated above its also called devils algae. I am battling it too. Kent-M to raise mag is probably the easiest/only way to remove it. I have a gallon on standby but am going to PA tomorrow to pick up a blunt nose sea hare and some lettuce nudi's to try first.

I just finished my 1st gallon of Tech M. Bryopsis is dying off. So far, minimal stress on corals. Zoas and palys are taking it the hardest. Just picked up some more Tech M...and the battle continues!
I will definitely be dipping everything that goes in my tank from here on in.

Dre nothing works to kill this off. Before the "magic bottles" people would just tear the tank down

+1, i will try to find out," Way grow" first, most like it is, PO4 levels (over 0.05 ) then about "magic bottles" is just Epsom , usually shortened just to magnesium sulphate , CVS $ 6, + Magnesium chloride, deicing pellets (Home Depot etc) Now the main point is this (in my opinion) in reef water is a very GOOD relation between Ca,Mg,Alk, Mg must be 3 X Ca, so if u increase Mg to 1600 (aka "magic bottles) u need 480 Ca than how much for Alk. ? according DD salt chart if u want 9 dkh Alk u need 425 Ca, 1275-1300 Mg, i think u need to lower the PO4 and Nitrate to control Algae grow, that way, i don't like sand, is like magnet to PO4.

There is an unknown chemical I Kent Tech M that kills the bryopsis. It's not just raising Mg. Whatever it is, it's killing the bryopsis in my tank.

Ah, I was looking for this a while back. This is the algae that the lettuce nudibranchs feed off of. They specifically eat this and incorporate the photosysthetic organelles into their body. However, snce they do that, they can photosynthesize for life and won't eat again. They breed easily and the newly hatched nudibranchs must eat this to live. Maybe you can be a local breeder?

"Myself and Mojo Reef invented this Kent Tech method long ago. You are doing fine. However, I have no clue if you stop dosing Vinegar it will have a better impact or not on the Bryo. We still have no clue why only Kent Tech works, other than some unknown substances in it. Lastly, the Internet has taken this method and has run off the deep end with it. Meaning, it DOES NOT ALWAYS WORK. It is a method that has worked for SOME". C and P from Boomer.

Kent Marine Tech-M

General Information:
Tech?M Magnesium

The preferred method is to test the magnesium level in your aquarium first and then add Tech?M at the rate of 1 ml per gallon aquarium capacity per day to bring the level to between 1250 and 1350 ppm.

This will raise the level by 18.3 ppm per day. As a routine supplement, add two teaspoons (2 capfuls or 10 ml) per 50 gallons tank capacity every week in all marine systems.

Ingredients:
Deionized Water, Magnesium Chloride and Magnesium Sulfate.

All i see, is what i mean, Mg. Chloride and Mg.Sulfate, now u NEVER now what u kill by using this, in top of that u increase salinity, change PH, reduce O2, bump Ca, increase stress on corals, etc. i prefer to control PO4, is just my opinion.
