Blue leg hermit crabs

Are blue leg hermits really reef safe?
I keep catching them picking on my sps and zoanthids Really starting to get annoying!!!

All crabs are opportunistic feeders and can start munching on coral. I don't keep any crabs in my tanks

Thats what i thought time to get rid of them, any other suggestions on a type of scavenger/ clean up crew thats coral safe to clean up any uneaten food etc...

I like using trocheus, nassarius, and certainly snails. In bigger tanks I like the turbo snails but they tend to bulldoze frags. Cleaner shrimp and blood shrimp ate cool. There's also critters that usually come in on live rock like bristle worms and brittle stars. That's about all that goes in my tanks as far as a cuc. I don't believe in putting a bunch of lil critters in, like the packs that some vendors sell. They add to your bio load just as much as coral would. Remember that all those little critters poop too lol
