Green hair algae!!!

So my tank has been set up for about 4 months now and I suddenly had an explosion of green algae. My parameters seem to be good and I'm not over feeding. I just don't know what it could be. I am running gfo and carbon and do 5 gallon water changes twice a week. I know it's a new tank and it needs time to mature but I wanted to add some more corals and everywhere I loom there is algae. The hammer and torch I have in there are doing amazing.

Anyone got any suggestions

Is that an Elos?

I would try that. I had a similar problem and a blackout eradicated the GHA.

The blackout won't stop it forever and will it affect my corals?

Poor advice. 3 day blackout is one of the treatments for a diatom bloom and sometimes a Cyano outbreak but will do NOTHING for a hair algae bloom like he has.

You say your parameters are good but I can guarantee you your phosphates are sky high. As far as not overfeeding what is your feeding schedule and how much?

Are you running a protein skimmer?

Lighting schedule and type of lighting?

If you could list what your tanks parameters actually are we can offer up a lot more help.

The algae needs nutrients to grow. They are coming from somewhere.

+1 on that. You need to export all the extra nutrients out of your system.

In addition to light cycle, what do you feed? How much? And. how often?
