The combo unit comes backlit but if you purchase a base unit only, you need to add the backlit option. At least that is what the website is indicating.

When Premium Aquatics did the AC Jr GB for RC members, it basically came to $10 off the MSRP.

Thanks Warren. I'll check with Jeremy tomorrow or Friday. There seems to be a lot of options with the AC jr. I hope everyone reads up on them and orders accordingly. I AM NOT AN EXPERT WITH THESE CONTROLLERS.

Not better quality or reliability, just more flexible if you need to contol more than chiller(or fan) and heater.

I like the idea of being able to turn off the lights in the middle of the day, in addition to turning on chillers, fans, and heater.

Like you said, the flexibility is great.

I have the ac jr. I have it set to turn a fan in the sump on when the temp gets to 79 degrees, when the temp gets to 80 degrees, it turns off the water heater called a mag drive 12 that runs my skimmer. When the temp hits 81 degrees, it turns off my MH. With this I have been able to keep my temp on my 65 down below or at 83 all summer (it only hit 83 on the hottest days), without running a dedicated Air conditioner. (i do run Air conditioners in other rooms when I am home)

After using the AC Jr., I would never go back to running my system without a controller of one kind or another.
