First of all, i just want to thank you all for your support. i've been working on my house with some poeple that are fixing a retaining wall that was falling but i did what i could for the tank all day(water changes and carbon. but now that there gone and i sit here looking at my tank is that it's all setting in. man all i could say is that i feel like someone close to me just died. and the pain is just unbearable. I coulld honestly say that i put a big part of my life to this hobby and tank. There were times that i got in deep **** with wifey because she felt my priority was my hobby over her and my kids. but thats not it, it just that i'm the only one that can take care of my tank. and we can take care of our kids. but i was always there for them to. even if it wasn't as much. this is a very deamanding hobby, but i did everything for it with out any regrets because i loved what it took to keep a nice tank. and now i feel like a part of me has died. I really appreciate everyone of you for your support, but i don't think right now i could deal with starting all over. i have three clams that i would give to anyone first thing in the morning if they meet me at my job. they look very stressed and don't want them to died. as far as the hobby goes my heart is telling me to let go right now. the sadness i feel is just unbearable. thanks for all your support. as of now i will be putting everything up for sale this week.

Sorry for your loss. I've lost a good % of my corals before when I moved and it almost made me quit once. I stayed in and I'm still happy. Good luck with whatever your choice though. Just try to think with a clear head before deciding.

Hey Dave

I recieved this email today to my gmail account ,it was from a complete stranger that saw this Thread, This is what she wrote.

Hello Ronen,

Obviously you don't know me, but I would appreciate it if you would send my condolences to Dave on his loss. Can't write to him directly as I'm not a member of MR (yet) and have no access to his EM address (but did find yours). Does that make me a 'lurker'? Sue me, you guys are a riot. When I do venture over to the SW side of the hobby, I will be looking to MR for advice. Our recent club trip to Atlantis Marine World included a behind the scenes tour (awesome) and a few of the guys are trying to convince me to go SW in one of my tanks (I have 14 FW). I'm with the Nassau County Aquarium Society and a couple of our members are also your members and suggested we look at your 'Reef Graffiti' and add something similar to our forum...sorry for the long version, but that's how I stumbled into all of this and saw the posts from Dave & all of you.
My heart is as broken for him as all of you have expressed so eloquently in your posts.
This can be a very heartbreaking hobby. I was happy to see in one of his later posts tonight that there was a glimmer of hope that he'll be back. He just needs some time now to absorb his loss.
Damn.
Please wish him peace for me and let him know there are people out there that he doesn't even know who care.
He's a lucky man, even if he doesn't feel that way right now.

Kathy

Agreed, take some time off, step back and when things clear up for you start again.

Truely sorry for your loss man. Words don't even come to mind when you see those pictures. Hang in there.

Sorry to hear about your loss Dave. I hope you don't leave the hobby. Maybe take some time to re-group before you make a final decision. Sometimes you have to look at things from a different view after the initial event happened. Emotions run strong when something disappointing happens to you. But, when you sit down and view things with a clear mind after the emotions have settled, things appear different...

Whatever you decide, make sure you've thought long and hard about it.

You obviously have other people out there besides MR who also feel your loss and don't want you to leave the hobby.

Hang in there!

RONEN thanks for posting this. I'm at work now and i can stop thinking of how nice all you people are, also can't stop thinking of my tank. i have a 16,5,and 2 year old and when i told them i was closing shop it broke there heart which in return broke my heart again. it makes me want to start a thread saying i'm in again. Kathy when you see this post (if you do) i want you to know that i may not know you, but the words you expressed are greatly appreciated . i also want to take this chance to thank every single one of you that have taken some of your time to express your thoughts to me. it's poeple like you that are making this much easier for me.

Thank you all,

Sincerely,

David
