Reef central is horrible. I got banned altogether for getting a friend to put up an ad for me. I was 11 at the time and didnt have the ^ requirements ^ to sell yet

RC is NOT the only site where Mods overstep boundaries. In this case it seems like a possible knee jerk reaction. Like it has been said an email calmly explaining your side a asking for clarification will likely correct the problem.
I am curious why it says THIRD warning. What happened the first 2 times that you didn't listen to?

I jumlst made a thread like 2 weeks ago about their Nazi-like mods.. RCs mods really suck..its also funny how you always get someone on here defending them and talking about how great they are and that they're just having a bad day blah blah blah. Look at the message he sent albano like you're some kind of child and he your daddy..he probably got beat up and picked on in school and now that he's a mod on a reefing forum he thinks he's the s$#t... Mods completely ruin that site

I feel the need to dissect this post a bit. First, what does "jumlst" mean? Second, let's try not to use the term "Nazi". No mod, no matter how "harsh" they can be (or are perceived to be), is even remotely in the same league of awfulness as a Nazi. The term is overused and also very offensive to certain people. Find another word. There are literally thousands of them.

Third.. The mod in question actually IS a good dude. I've met him before. Have you? I'm sure he's tired of seeing people trying to circumvent the selling rules, especially because they are so INCREDIBLY EASY to follow. RC is not Craigslist, and I'm extremely happy it's not. The purpose of RC is to share information and experience, NOT to sell.

It sounds like many people try and circumvent the rc rules for selling with innuendos like... Im breaking my tank down soon... When someone asking about drilling a tank... It may not have been your intention, but if I were nervous about drilling a tank and someone replied that they were breaking down their tank, i might be inclined to pm them and inquire... Whether that warranted a ban is another question... But overall the site restricts selling and is stringent on the rules in order to make sure everyone follows them...to protect both buyers and sellers. Make sure your PM on the site notifies you via email so you know You got Mail

If they were asking you to put a price and you were qualified for selling.buying on the forum, then it would have been pretty straight forward to edit your post to something to the effect of..

"I see you have concerns or questions about drilling your tank...i am breaking mine down soon and it can be drilled / or is reef ready and will be on sale at $9.99 in a few weeks."

This makes it clear what you were trying to imply about breaking your tank down and following the site rules...

From my experience, mods are real people and may have a power trip going on, but do try and enforce the rules for a reason...usually from past abuse of those rules

at least you got a notifacation i got banned for not doing anything i i hadn't posted in over 3 months & one day i just got completely banned for life with no explanation sent 3 private emails & never even got e respond

I left rc for the same reason, they lack that city urban appeal and tact on how to talk to people , let them keep it , they don't even exist in the real world!

I don't know man. I'm gonna have to disagree a bit. They may not be a good fit for some(myself included) BUT on that note you really don't find many much better at the whole reef chemistry and alchemy field as Randy Holmes-Farley.

He did help me out when I first got started. There are some super knowledgeable people on there but it has its mix of jerks as well. For that reason I haven't posted anything on there in probably a year.
