I haven't put anything new in my DT in over two years, and all of a sudden I have this big outbreak of aiptasia!

I just bought a copperband butterfly that I am going to QT for a few weeks, and 5 peppermint shrimp.

The shrimp are very small, and would just be a snack for my tangs in the DT if I throw them in.

Can I put the shrimp in the QT with the copperband to fatten them up for a while, or will the copperband eat the peppermint shrimp?

Maybe I should have bought the 2W Survival Laser after all...:banghead:

I put 2 peppermints in my 140g to get rid of aptasia. They were only 3/4" at the time. Nobody messed with them. They hid in the rocks all day and fed at night. I don't have many fish that would go after them - 4 damsels, a 4" kole tang, and an anthias. I trapped them out when aptasia were gone. Took about 2 weeks or so. First 4-5 days starving the tank to encourage them to feed. Aptasia disappeared nightly. I gave one away and currently have him back in the DT. Nobody messes with him. I tried a healthy feeding Copperband, it got mauled by my tang in 3 days. The only concern I had about the peppermints was that from what I've heard, only Caribbean Peppermints will eat aptasia. The Indonesian Peppermints can eat your corals. I specifically shopped for Caribbeans. Just my experience. GL.
