Best ways to stock tank with pods

Primarily for keeping scooter blenny so assuming i need pods in my 30gal.

Been running almost 2 years. LR. Remora skimmer. No sump. Perc, 6 line, goby, chromis. firefish.

Do i constantly have to add stuff like Tisbe...the copepod starter potions?

without a sump and a safe place for pod population it will be tough to maintain a healthy amount of pods.

If im not mistaking one bottle or one bag of pods would be more then enough since they will multiple more every time they grow. But if you get the pods on a bag or bottle I would drain out the water and use a net to dump inside the net while you are draining the water from the bag or bottle. Reason I say this is because once you get the pods there water parameters will be totally different from your tank parameters. It's better to do it this way IMO then being sorry. Btw it better off if you do this at night time. You will see them swimming around at night. Hope this helps you out.

Angelo... you're not taking into account the animal that will be consuming this... a scooter blenny, which just like a mandarin will decimate thousands of pods within a week. Without a sump... he will continue to need to add pods just to feed the critter.

Crush up rubble and put it into a pantyhose stocking. Tie the stocking closed and hide it in the rocks. It will help give the pods a safe place to hide where no fish can get them.

Do you have space and means for hob fuge? This could help you out, but idea of rock rubble is good too

Thanks Hightide...nice idea. And i just saw the article about pod condos. stockings are easier but can the pods get thru the stocking material? The pod condos have nice big gaps but will mean a mini-project.

But like skene says...I wonder whether a pod condo can sustain enough pods. I may have to go the sump route.

As for an HOB...i've already got a remora hanging on the back. Not sure i want another attachment, but i've been looking around at hob fuges.

I agree with Skene regarding the amount of pods needed to sustain your blenny. A sump would be invaluable in your situation

I also doubt that pods will be able to pass through the tight weave in panyhose. Bridal Veil netting would probably work much better for the condo.
